ABOUT US
We are both native speakers of
English with fluency in French. The
passion we share for translating and writing has allowed us to successfully
collaborate on a number of major projects over the years. Our translations and original works can
be found in the libraries of some of the world’s most prestigious
universities, including Harvard, Yale, Stanford, Georgetown, Oxford, McGill,
Laval, and the Sorbonne.
Paul Raymond Côté holds a Ph.D. in French
literature from McGill University.
He now lives in Montreal where he works as a freelance French-to-English
translator. He was Full Professor
at American University (Washington, D.C.) and headed the translation
certificate program there for twenty years. He has published extensively, in English and French, on French
novelist-art critic-politician André Malraux, and authored a number of books, articles, and book reviews
dealing with French and Canadian literature. His articles have appeared in the French
Review, Romanic Review, Symposium, André Malraux
Review, Esprit créateur, Québec Studies, and
other refereed journals. In addition to living in the United States and Canada, he has
also resided in France and Luxembourg.

Constantina Mitchell is Professor Emerita at Gallaudet
University (Washington, D.C.), where she taught for nineteen years before
returning to Montreal. Among her other accomplishments in Washington, D.C. are
two Smithsonian Institution lecture series (one on Victor Hugo; the other on
surrealist photographer Man Ray) and a one-year stint at the U.S. Department of
State Foreign Service Institute.
She holds a Ph.D. in French literature from McGill University and a
Licence ès lettres from the Sorbonne. She has published extensively, in
English and French, on the works of nineteenth-century French poet Paul
Verlaine and twentieth-century Québec author Anne Hébert. She has resided in France and Luxembourg
as well as the United States and Canada.
She is now a freelance French-to-English translator.
